A southern star seen low on the horizon from Arabia. Together with Rigil Kentaurus it points to the Southern Cross.
Where you can see it
It rises everywhere south of 30°N. From Riyadh it climbs to 5° above the horizon. Never rises over London. From Sydney it climbs to 63° above the horizon.
